Eesti Rooma Klubi pressiteade
Rooma Klubi tuleb Eestisse
Tallinnas toimub 25. – 26. veebruaril 2005 Rooma Klubi Euroopa rahvuslike ühenduste aastakonverents. Registreerunud on esindajad 19 Euroopa riigist. Teiste hulgas osalevad konverentsil EV president Arnold Rüütel, Riigikogu esimees Ene Ergma, Europarlamendi liikmeid, Rooma Klubi peasekretär ja liikmeid.
Läbiva teemana käsitletakse integratsiooni piire, seda mitte ainult kitsamas eurointegratsiooni mõttes, vaid ka üldises inimkonna ajaloo kontekstis. Jätkusuutliku arengu võtmes kõneletakse integratsiooni erinevatest aspektidest – strateegilised valikud, kultuur, poliitika, rahandus, meedia jm. Vabariigi President, Eesti Rooma Klubi liige Arnold Rüütel räägib Eesti teest jätkusuutlikule arengule.
Kui Rooma Klubi teatakse pigem kui hoiatajat ja halva sõnumi toojat, siis tegelikkuses pakub ta ka positiivset programmi inimkonna pääsemiseks. Üks osa konverentsist on pühendatud Globaalse Marshalli Plaani Algatusele.
Rooma Klubi kõrge intellektuaalne potentsiaal ning väga piiratud liikmete arv (see võib tõusta kõige enam 100-ni) jätab ta paratamatult ebamaiselt kõrgeks katedraaliks. Seda tunnetanuna laiendab Rooma Klubi oma võrgustikku. Rahvuslike ühenduste hulk kasvab ja nende tegevuse sisukus suureneb. Oma võrku ehitab ka Rooma Klubi noorteühendus tt30 (“Thinktank 30”, ühendab mõndakümmet kuni 35-aastast). Konverentsi teine päev kulubki aruteluks selle võrgustiku parema toimimise võimaluste üle.
Ajakirjandus on konverentsil teretulnud. On hea võimalus intervjueerida Rooma Klubi liikmeid.
